GOALS & SPIRITUAL OBJECTIVES
- To teach the necessity of being born again of the Spirit of God by receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (John 3:16)
- To teach that growth in the Christian life depends upon fellowship with God through Bible study, Christian fellowship, and prayer. (Acts 2:42)
- To devote time to spiritual devotion and study. Bible lessons, stories, and songs are included in the daily activities. (Psalm 119:45)
- To make Christ known to those around us (friends, family, etc.), by training students to live and share the abundant Christian life, and by providing an academically superior program that will enable students to excel in whatever occupation and sphere of influence they choose.
- To maintain open communication with parents and to offer direct instruction, assistance, and resources as they fulfill their responsibility for the overall education of their children.
- To emphasize basic academic skills, technology, literacy, communication and interpersonal skills that will enable students to excel in whatever occupation and sphere of influence to which the Lord calls them.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21)
The Bible is God’s Word to all men. It was written by human authors, who were under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it is inspired by God, it is without error in the original writings, and is the complete and only supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.
The Triune God (Mark 12:29; Matthew 28:18,19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Person and Work of Jesus Christ (John 1:1,14,18; 5:17,18; 8:58; 10:30-33, Rom. 3:24,25)
Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now our High Priest and Advocate.
The Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3,4; 2 Corinthians 3:18; John 14:16, 17: 16:7-15)
The Holy Spirit is equal in the trinity of the Father and the Son, thus making him God. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and is to convict men of sin, regenerate the believer, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
The Nature of Man (Genesis 1:26; 3:1-17; Romans 5:12; 3:22,23; Ephesians 2:12)
Man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and became alienated from God, acquired a sin nature and incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God.
The Way to God (Eph. 2:8-10; Romans 3:24; 1 Peter 1:18,19; 2:24; Titus 3:5,6)
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his own sin and failure by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offering of forgiveness can man experience justification and forgiveness of sin.
The Second Coming of Christ (1Thess. 4:13-18; Acts 1:11; John 14:1-4; Rev.20: 6)
The Lord Jesus Christ will return to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. His return will be personal, visible, and pre-millennial. The expectation of this, our Blessed Hope, has a vital bearing on our personal life and service as believers.
The Resurrection of the Dead (John 5:29; Mark 9:43-48; 2Thess. 1:8,9; Rev. 20:11-15; 21:1-4)
All mankind will be bodily resurrected. Everyone will either exist eternally in union with God through forgiveness and salvation or exist eternally separated from God by sin and self choice.
The Church (1 Cor. 12:12-27; Eph. 1:22,23; Col. 1:17,18; Hebrews 10:25)
The true Church of Jesus Christ is a spiritual organism made up of all persons who, through faith in Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. This spiritual organism is called the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. In addition, all members of this spiritual organism are directed by Scripture to associate themselves in local assemblies for the purpose of edification and evangelism.
The Sacraments (Acts 8:38,39; Romans 6:1-11; Matthew 26:26-30; 1 Cor. 11:24-32)
God has given two sacraments for believers to share in. One is “Water Baptism” as a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to new life. The other is the “Lord’s Supper” which is a memorial service, setting forth in a symbolic manner the life and death of the Lord Jesus Christ.
ACCREDITATION
Pac Point is accredited for Grades K-12 by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Accreditation through WASC helps assure that the school’s purpose is appropriate and being accomplished through a viable education program; is a trustworthy institution for student learning. It also validates the integrity of the school’s program and transcripts, and fosters the ongoing improvement of the school’s programs and operations to support student learning.
ACSI schools seek accreditation to validate their quality and verify that they are striving for excellence based on a solid Christian philosophy of education foundation.
The ACSI accreditation protocol is unique in two major ways: (1) It probes the spiritual aspects of each component of the organization and (2) it addresses the educational quality and integrity of the organization. The latter addresses the issues demonstrating that the school is true to its own statements of philosophy, mission, and goals and that it is meeting the standards of quality and effectiveness.
A Message to Perspective Parents from Interim Superintendent Janet Vandenberg
In 2020, I began working as the Elementary Principal at Pacific Point Christian at a time when our school was struggling and the COVID crisis seemed to define our world. Against all odds, I developed great working relationships with the outstanding elementary staff, made connections with many of our wonderful families, and received advice and help from respected leaders. Instead of decreasing, our campus expanded, which is a testimony to the staff and their excellence. It has been a delight to witness the Lord deliver healing and bring strength to our team.
“Even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright” (Proverbs 20:11, ESV).
I now serve as the interim Superintendent, and change and growth have caught an exciting momentum. I speak for the entire staff when I say, we desire to offer a welcoming, academically strong, and God-fearing school in and for the South Bay Area. Pacific Point Christian is a place where children will be challenged to grow emotionally, academically, and spiritually; this is critical for the success of our students in our ever-changing world.
With that stated, is there anyone who disagrees that social media and spending hours on a cell phone are harmful to a young person’s sensitive psyche? The statistics are clear: our children are being influenced and harmed by what they see and watch online. Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, Pacific Point Christian will require students to put their devices aside when in social settings and to use them solely under the supervision of our staff as a tool in class and for assignments. We care about your child’s emotional well-being and extra-curricular growth opportunities. We offer elective classes like music, worship band, physical education, STEM, robotics, art, computer sciences, photography, yearbook, gardening, gaming fundamentals, eSports/athletics, ASB, and field trips. In addition, we offer after-school clubs, such as LEGO, Culinary Chemistry, and more. As you visit us, you can explore our campuses, and you will learn about the activities offered at your specific location.
In addition, Pacific Point Christian Staff are focused on the academic excellence of our students by using Bob Jones, Summit, and ACSI curricula (to name a few) for our preschool, elementary, junior high, and high school.. Colossians 2:8 warns, “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ” (ESV). The challenging curriculum is based on Biblical teaching and inspires students to learn the information and understanding required as they progress to the next level.
Moreover, we are focused on the spiritual molding of your child by offering Bible courses and chapel time each week with worship music and a word from the Bible taught by respected pastors and laypeople within the local churches with which we have a relationship. Students are expected to demonstrate leadership qualities, develop and implement strategies for local community service outreach, and have a serving heart to contribute to the development of the school. Pacific Point Christian is a community school that encourages families to come alongside, support our mission, and become better equipped to face future opportunities and challenges. I believe the Lord appoints parents to “train up” their children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6). Our role is to assist parents in carrying out their responsibilities.
